Job description

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (available immediately) to strengthen our team.


You will be a part of an informal and multidisciplinary development team, where you will be given the room for your own initiatives and responsibilities.


The team is responsible for the development and deployment of Mopinion’s online customer feedback application and web services. The team is also in charge of all app operations and their architecture - which are now active in more than 50 countries. Millions of end users currently use the apps and cloud infrastructure that you will help build and scale.


As ‘DevOps Engineer’, you will perform a supporting task within the team to localise and deploy our applications.


Additionally, you will play an important role in the future of our infrastructure and software architecture, in which auto-scaling, cluster tuning and security are the order of the day. You are also jointly responsible for our cloud server monitoring - ensuring that everything continues to function optimally.


As DevOps Engineer at Mopinion, it’s important that you have a ‘can-do’ mentality as well as a keen interest in high performance software development and cloud computing. You must also be able to work well on your own. 


You have experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Linux, Docker, Apache, Nginx and visualisation / monitoring tools.

Knowledge of Kubernetes, PHP, Python, Flask, Spark, MySQL, MongoDB, Scala and Go is a plus.


  • Prepare our applications for localisation (in consultation with those responsible internally);

  • Perform localisations of our applications (build and deploy);

  • Build upon our complex, high performance architecture and document it properly;

  • Provide technical support for new releases, to prevent (or during) calamities.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a DevOps Engineer;

  • Experience using modern technologies and online Cloud computing (AWS);

  • Affinity and experience with the online media;

  • Strong technical skills;

  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written in English (and a bit of Dutch is nice too);

  • Experience working in an international environment is a plus.

  • Pays close attention to detail and quality, with a focus on deadlines;

  • Ability to respond effectively and flexibly to the needs and interests of internal and external customers

  • Hands-on mentality with a proactive attitude; and
